Terms of service

Last updated: 18 July 2026

These Terms of Service apply to your use of the Plainly Does It website and to orders placed through our online store.

By placing an order, you agree to these Terms of Service together with our Privacy Policy, Shipping Policy, Return and Refund Policy, Contact Information and Legal Notice.

The website-use sections of these terms also apply whenever you browse or use our website.

Who we are

This website is operated by Plainly Does It Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 16673653.

Our registered office is:
Plainly Does It Ltd
55 Newsham Way
Northallerton
England
DL7 8HX

Please do not send returns to our registered office unless we have confirmed the correct return address with you first.

Our online store is powered by Shopify, which provides the ecommerce platform we use to sell products and process orders.

When you place an order through our website, your contract is with Plainly Does It Ltd. Shopify provides the store platform but is not the seller of products purchased from Plainly Does It Ltd.

Throughout these terms, "we", "us" and "our" refer to Plainly Does It Ltd. "You" and "your" refer to the person using our website or placing an order.

For general enquiries, please contact hello@plainlydoesit.co.uk.

Using our online store

Our website and contract information are provided in English.

To place an order, select the products you wish to buy, review your basket, enter your contact and delivery information, select the available delivery and payment options, review the order and submit payment.

You will have an opportunity to review and correct the products, quantities, delivery address and other information entered before completing your order.

The checkout will show the total price payable, including any applicable delivery charges, before you complete the order.

You may save or print these terms for future reference.

Our products

Plainly Does It sells a curated range of greeting cards, homeware, candles, home fragrance, textiles and lifestyle products.

We do our best to display product descriptions, images, colours, sizes, materials and other details accurately. Colours may vary slightly depending on screen settings, and some measurements may be approximate.

Some products may be handmade, hand-finished or made from natural materials. Small variations in colour, finish, texture, shape or size may occur. These variations will not affect your rights if a product is faulty, not as described or materially different from the product ordered.

We may update, change, remove or discontinue products before an order is accepted. Changes will not affect an order that we have already accepted unless we agree the change with you.

Placing an order

When you place an order through our website, you are making an offer to buy the products in your basket.

After placing an order, you will usually receive an automatic order confirmation email. This confirms that we have received your order but does not necessarily mean that we have accepted it.

Your order is accepted when we send a dispatch confirmation, send a separate message expressly accepting the order, or issue a digital gift card. At that point, a contract is formed between you and Plainly Does It Ltd.

We will provide confirmation of the contract by email or another format that you can retain.

Before completing your order, you are responsible for checking that the products, quantities, delivery address and contact details entered are correct.

We may be unable to accept an order because a product is unavailable, payment has not been authorised, we cannot deliver to the address provided, an obvious pricing or product-information error has occurred, or we reasonably suspect fraud or unlawful activity.

If we cannot accept or fulfil an order, we will contact you as soon as reasonably possible. If payment has already been taken, we will refund the affected amount to the original payment method.

Please contact orders@plainlydoesit.co.uk as soon as possible if you need to correct or cancel an order. We cannot guarantee that changes can be made once processing or dispatch has begun.

Prices and payment

All prices are shown in pounds sterling.

Product prices, delivery charges and the total amount payable will be shown before you complete your order.

Payment must be made at checkout using one of the payment methods available on the website.

Prices may change at any time, but a change will not affect an order that we have already accepted.

If a product is displayed at an obviously incorrect price, we may contact you before accepting the order to ask whether you wish to continue at the correct price. If you do not wish to continue, or we cannot contact you, we will cancel the affected product and refund any payment already taken.

Gift cards

Gift cards are issued digitally and may be used towards eligible purchases made through our website.

Gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash. Any applicable statutory cancellation or refund rights will be handled in accordance with consumer law and our Return and Refund Policy.

Please check the recipient's email address carefully before completing your order.

Please treat a gift-card code like cash and keep it secure. Contact us promptly if you believe a code has been lost, shared without permission or compromised. We cannot normally replace value that has already been redeemed by someone with access to the code, except where required by law.

Stock and availability

We do our best to keep stock information accurate, but availability can change and a product displayed on the website may occasionally become unavailable.

Some products are supplied or dispatched through our supplier network. If a product becomes unavailable after an order is placed, we will contact you as soon as possible and offer an appropriate solution. This may include an alternative product, a revised delivery date or a refund for the unavailable product.

Delivery

Please see our Shipping Policy for information about delivery prices, estimated delivery times, delivery areas and orders sent in separate parcels.

Some products are dispatched directly by us and others may be dispatched by one of our suppliers. You remain a customer of Plainly Does It Ltd regardless of which location dispatches the product.

Delivery times are estimates unless we have expressly agreed a guaranteed date with you. Delays may occur because of supplier issues, courier disruption, busy periods, bank holidays, severe weather or events outside our reasonable control.

Unless a different delivery period has been agreed with you, we will deliver your order without unnecessary delay and no later than 30 days after it has been accepted.

We will contact you if we become aware of a significant delay. If a delay gives you a legal right to cancel, we will explain the available options and refund the affected products where appropriate.

You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address. Please contact us immediately if you notice an error.

Responsibility for the products passes to you when they are delivered to you or to a person identified by you to receive them. It does not pass merely because the parcel has been handed to a courier selected by us.

Returns, cancellations and refunds

Please see our Return and Refund Policy for information about change of mind cancellations, returns, faulty or damaged products, incorrect products and refunds.

For most products bought online, consumers have a legal right to tell us within 14 days after delivery that they wish to cancel, followed by a further 14 days to return the products. Exceptions may apply to certain products, as explained in our Return and Refund Policy.

Please contact us before returning a product so that we can confirm the correct return process and address.

Please do not send products directly to a supplier unless we have asked you to do so.

Damaged, faulty, misdescribed or incorrect products

Products must be of satisfactory quality, fit for their usual purpose and as described.

Please check your order when it arrives and contact us if a product is damaged, faulty, not as described or incorrect.

Please email returns@plainlydoesit.co.uk with your order number, a description of the issue and, where possible, clear photographs of the product and packaging.

Contacting us within 48 hours can help us investigate delivery damage quickly with the relevant supplier or courier, but this is not a condition of your legal rights.

Please keep the product and packaging while we review the issue, where it is reasonable and safe to do so.

Depending on the circumstances and how long you have had the product, you may be entitled to a refund, repair or replacement. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected by these terms.

Product safety and use

Please read and follow all safety information, warning labels, care instructions and usage guidance supplied with a product or displayed on its product page.

Products should only be used for their intended purpose. Particular care should be taken when using candles, home fragrance, glassware, fragile products or products around children and pets.

Nothing in this section limits your rights if a product is unsafe, faulty or not as described.

Use of our website

You may use our website only for lawful purposes.

You must not knowingly damage, disable, overload or impair the website, interfere with another person's use of it, attempt to gain unauthorised access, introduce malicious code, misuse customer or website data, or use the website for fraudulent or unlawful activity.

Website availability

We aim to keep the website available and accurate, but we do not guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted or free from technical errors.

We may temporarily suspend or restrict access for maintenance, security, technical or operational reasons. This does not affect orders that we have already accepted or your statutory rights.

Account information

If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for activity carried out through your account.

You must provide accurate and up-to-date information when creating an account or placing an order.

We may suspend or close an account if we reasonably believe it has been compromised, misused or used unlawfully. Where appropriate, we will explain the reason and allow you to contact us.

Intellectual property

Content on this website, including text, images, branding, graphics, product names, designs and layouts, belongs to Plainly Does It Ltd, its suppliers or another rights holder and is used with permission.

You may view and use the website for personal shopping and other lawful personal purposes.

You must not reproduce, distribute, modify, sell or use website content for commercial purposes without permission from the relevant rights holder.

Reviews, feedback and customer content

If you submit a review, send feedback or share photographs or other content with us, you confirm that the content is honest, lawful and yours to share.

You retain ownership of your content. By submitting it for publication or promotional use, you give us non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to reproduce, display and adapt it for operating and promoting Plainly Does It.

You may contact us if you would like us to stop using your content in future materials, although we may not always be able to withdraw materials that have already been produced or distributed.

We may choose not to publish, or may remove, content that is unlawful, abusive, discriminatory, misleading, offensive, contains another person's private information or is unrelated to the relevant product or service.

Third-party services and links

Our website may use or link to third-party services, including payment providers, delivery services, review platforms and social-media websites.

Third-party websites and services may have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for content or services outside our control, but this does not limit our responsibility for services that we have agreed to provide as part of your order.

Privacy

We handle personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

Promotions and discount codes

Promotions, offers and discount codes may have their own eligibility requirements, dates, exclusions or other conditions.

Discount codes must be entered at checkout and cannot usually be applied retrospectively after an order has been completed.

Unless stated otherwise, promotional offers cannot be combined with another discount or promotion.

We may amend or withdraw a promotion before an order is accepted. This will not affect an order that has already been accepted using the promotion.

We may refuse a discount or cancel its application where it has been used fraudulently, contrary to the stated offer terms or because of an obvious technical error. If this affects an order, we will contact you and refund any amount due.

Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for foreseeable loss or damage that you suffer as a result of our breach of these terms or our failure to use reasonable care and skill.

We are not responsible for loss or damage that was not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed.

We supply products for personal and domestic use. We are not responsible for business losses, including loss of profit, revenue, business opportunity or anticipated savings, where a product is used for commercial or business purposes.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our responsibility for:

  • death or personal injury caused by our negligence
  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation
  • faulty, unsafe or misdescribed products where liability cannot legally be excluded
  • breach of your statutory consumer rights
  • anything else for which it would be unlawful to exclude or limit liability

Nothing in these terms affects any legal rights or remedies available to you as a consumer.

Events outside our reasonable control

We are not responsible for a delay or failure caused by an event outside our reasonable control. This may include severe weather, strikes, transport disruption, courier or supplier disruption, major technical failures, natural disasters or other events that we could not reasonably prevent.

If such an event affects your order, we will take reasonable steps to reduce the delay and keep you informed where possible.

If there is a substantial delay, you may contact us to discuss cancellation. Where you have a legal right to cancel, we will refund the affected products.

Complaints

If something has gone wrong, please contact us and we will try to resolve the matter fairly.

For complaints, please email hello@plainlydoesit.co.uk with your order number, where relevant, and a clear description of the issue.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time to reflect changes to our business, website, services or legal obligations.

The latest version will be available on this page. The terms in force when we accept your order will continue to apply to that order.

If part of these terms is invalid

If a court or relevant authority decides that part of these terms is unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining sections will continue to apply.

Governing law

These Terms of Service and contracts made through our website are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you retain any mandatory legal protections that apply where you live and may normally bring legal proceedings in your local courts.
