Christmas Giveaway | Terms & Conditions
This giveaway is organised by Plainly Does It Ltd and hosted on our official Instagram account, @plainlydoesit.
1. The Prize
One winner will receive an Embers & Roots Christmas Candle Gift Box, containing three handmade soy wax candles in Spruce, Winter Spice and Gingerbread, together with a box of matches.
The prize will be delivered free of charge to a UK address. There is no cash alternative, and the prize cannot be exchanged for other products.
2. How to Enter
To enter the giveaway, participants must:
- Follow @plainlydoesit on Instagram.
- Tag at least one friend in the comments of the official giveaway post.
We would also love you to like the giveaway post, although this is not a requirement for entry.
Existing followers are welcome to enter and have the same chance of winning as new followers.
Only one entry per person will be counted, regardless of the number of comments or friends tagged. Multiple comments will not increase the chances of winning.
No purchase is necessary to enter.
3. Eligibility
The giveaway is open to UK residents aged 18 or over.
Employees and directors of Plainly Does It Ltd and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
Entrants must have a valid Instagram account and submit an eligible comment on the official giveaway post.
Private Instagram accounts are welcome to enter. Where Instagram privacy settings prevent independent verification of an entry requirement, the entrant will not automatically be disqualified solely because their account is private.
4. Competition Dates
The giveaway opens on Monday 26 October 2026 and closes at 12:00 noon GMT on Sunday 1 November 2026.
Entries received after the closing time will not be included in the draw.
5. Winner Selection
One winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries using Pickfetti or another suitable random selection tool. If the number of comments exceeds the limit supported by Pickfetti, Plainly Does It may use an alternative platform to conduct the draw. All eligible entries will be included, with each participant having one equal chance of winning.
The selection tool will be configured, where supported, to require at least one tagged Instagram account, exclude duplicate entries and limit entries to those received before the closing time. Any checks not supported by the selection tool will be carried out separately.
Each eligible participant will have one chance of winning.
The selected winner's follow status for @plainlydoesit will be checked where possible. Entrants who can be verified as not following the account will be ineligible. Where follow status cannot be established because of Instagram privacy restrictions, the entrant will not automatically be excluded.
One winner and up to three reserve winners will be selected at random. Reserve winners may be used if the original winner is ineligible or does not claim the prize.
The draw will take place on Sunday 1 November 2026 after entries close at 12:00 noon GMT.
A record of the random selection will be retained to demonstrate that the draw was conducted fairly.
6. Public Winner Announcement and Draw Recording
This giveaway includes a planned public winner announcement on Instagram.
We intend to record and share the random winner selection on our Instagram account on Sunday afternoon, 1 November 2026. The format of the recording may vary depending on the random selection tool used.
The recording may display the Instagram usernames of participants during the selection process, including the selected winner's username.
Following verification, we intend to publicly congratulate the winner by displaying and tagging their Instagram username in our Instagram Stories or other giveaway announcement content.
We want all participants to be aware of our intention to record the draw and publicly announce the winner before entering.
Participants may object to the publication of their identifying information or request that the information shared is limited. This will not affect their eligibility or chances of winning.
Anyone wishing to object should contact @plainlydoesit by Instagram direct message. We encourage participants to contact us before the draw wherever possible.
If a participant or winner objects to public identification, we will respect their wishes and, where necessary, edit or withhold the public recording or publish an alternative announcement without identifying them.
Information confirming that a valid prize award took place may still be provided to the Advertising Standards Authority if required.
7. Contacting the Winner and Claiming the Prize
The selected winner will be contacted directly through Instagram by our official account, @plainlydoesit.
The winner must respond to our direct message within seven days of being contacted to claim their prize.
We will ask the winner to provide their full name and UK postal address privately so that we can arrange delivery.
We will make reasonable attempts to contact the winner. If the prize remains unclaimed after seven days, Plainly Does It reserves the right to award the prize to an eligible reserve winner.
Plainly Does It will never request payment, banking information or card details to claim a prize.
Participants should only respond to messages from our official Instagram account, @plainlydoesit.
8. Prize Delivery
The prize will be dispatched free of charge to the winner's nominated UK delivery address within 30 days of receiving their delivery details.
The winner is responsible for providing an accurate and complete delivery address.
We will contact the winner privately if any further information is needed to arrange delivery.
9. Privacy and Personal Information
Personal information provided by the winner, including their name and postal address, will only be used to administer the giveaway and arrange delivery of the prize, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Delivery information will not be requested publicly in Instagram comments.
Instagram usernames and comments may be processed using Pickfetti or another suitable random selection tool for the purpose of administering the draw, selecting a winner fairly and checking entries.
The selection tool may generate a record of the draw, including usernames, entry details and the selection results. We will manage the publication of any such records with regard to participants' privacy and any objections received.
As explained in Section 6, we intend to share a recorded winner selection and publicly congratulate and tag the winner, subject to any objections or requests to limit the publication of identifying information.
Personal information collected for the giveaway will not be used for marketing purposes without the individual's separate consent.
Information relating to the administration and outcome of the giveaway may be retained where reasonably necessary to demonstrate compliance with applicable promotional marketing requirements.
10. General Conditions
Plainly Does It reserves the right to disqualify entries that are fraudulent, automated or do not meet these terms and conditions.
Any changes necessary due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control will be handled fairly and communicated to participants where appropriate.
The giveaway will be administered fairly and in accordance with applicable UK promotional marketing rules.
This giveaway is organised and funded by Plainly Does It Ltd. It is not sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Instagram or Meta Platforms, Inc.
By entering, participants agree to these terms and conditions and release Instagram from responsibility for this promotion.
