Meet Valentte

From a kitchen table to homes across Britain.

What began with handmade soaps at a London market has grown into a British home fragrance and skincare brand, with its own manufacturing facilities in Cheshire and a continuing passion for beautiful fragrances and thoughtful gifting.

The people behind the brand

Meet Luke & Justina

Valentte began in 2011, when co-founders Luke and Justina started selling handmade bars of soap at Greenwich Market in London.

It was a modest beginning, but one that would grow into something much bigger. With demand increasing, they opened a second market stall in Covent Garden the following year.

Fragrance was an important part of the business from the beginning. Some of Valentte's original blends were first developed by Justina at their kitchen table in London, more than a decade ago.

Today, the pair continue to lead a business with its own manufacturing operation in Cheshire, bringing together fragrance development, production and considered packaging.

Although the scale of Valentte has changed considerably, its founders still speak proudly about those early days and the ambition that started it all.

The Valentte story

From Greenwich Market to Cheshire

Valentte's story is one of gradual growth, from selling products face to face at London markets to establishing a permanent home for the business in Cheshire.

Along the way, Luke and Justina attended county shows and country fairs across Britain, introducing their products to new customers and building the brand.

Behind the fragrance

Made with care in Cheshire

One of the things that makes Valentte's story interesting is the way the business has developed its own manufacturing operation.

Rather than simply selecting finished products, Valentte says it oversees the process from developing ideas and fragrances through to manufacturing and packaging.

Its candles, diffusers and skincare products are handmade in Cheshire, where the team continues to produce the collection.

Some of the original fragrance blends remain part of the range today, alongside newer scents developed as the business has grown.

Thoughtful details

The finishing touches matter

For Valentte, the presentation of its products has always been an important part of the experience.

The brand designs its packaging in-house, with Justina guiding the creative direction. Designs can go through weeks of development and several prototypes before they are finalised.

The result is a collection with a recognisable identity, where the packaging feels as considered as the fragrances inside.

From individual home fragrance products to coordinating gift boxes and sets, it's this attention to presentation that makes Valentte particularly suited to gifting.

The Plainly connection

Why we've chosen Valentte

When I started Plainly Does It, I wanted to bring together independent brands whose products feel considered, whether that's something for your own home or a gift for someone else.

Valentte appealed to me because of the combination of beautiful home fragrances, thoughtful packaging and the story behind the business.

I love that a brand which began with handmade soap at a London market has grown into an established British business, while continuing to manufacture its products in Cheshire.

Fragrance and gifting are an important part of the collection I'm building at Plainly, and Valentte felt like a natural addition.

I've selected a range of their candles, diffusers, room fragrances, hand and body products and gift sets, bringing together familiar favourites and seasonal fragrances.

I'm really pleased to be able to introduce Valentte as part of the Plainly Does It collection.
